Patient feedback is one source of practice-related feedback for revalidation. Nurse Tools gives you a free patient survey. This page explains how it works.
Why patient feedback matters
Revalidation asks for five pieces of practice-related feedback over three years. Feedback can come from patients, colleagues and other sources. Patient feedback shows how your care is experienced by the people you look after.
How the patient survey works
- You create a survey in your account;
- you share it with patients using a code or a link;
- patients answer a short set of questions;
- their responses are collected confidentially;
- Nurse Tools gathers the responses into a report.
You then reflect on the feedback and record it as evidence.
Using patient feedback for revalidation
You do not submit the survey to the NMC. You keep it in your portfolio; you may base one of your reflective accounts on what the feedback showed. Our revalidation guidance explains the feedback requirement.
